Music

Often when you’re ill, you’re very limited in what you can do. I love how music, especially worshipping through it, can provide a platform in which you can intimately connect with the Father. Listening into the melody and words can provide your mind, body, and spirit with the means of finding peace and comfort among the storm. Click the button below to find a Spotify playlist filled with songs of praise and hope.

Books

Reading can be extremely difficult when your body and mind is going through the stress of any type of illness. However, books can be powerful tools of what they can communicate with the truth they provide. Even beyond those who are struggling with the fight of cancer are the family and friends in the wings. Many times having a resource of well written books can provide the help needed to process what all is happening. Click below to find an Amazon list of books I highly recommend. I also included some journals as documenting your story is very important.

Online

Here are some links that are instrumental sites that can help you and your loved ones in multiple ways. Hover over a site’s title and click to be open a new window with that resource.

Samaritan Ministries coordinates and connects members to care for the whole need with financial support, encouragement, and prayer. My wife and I personally use them as a Christian group share and have them to be phenomenal work with, even before our story of cancer.

CaringBridge’s mission is to amplify the love, hope and compassion in the world, making each health journey easier. Alyssa was quickly recommended this site by one of our nurses during our stay in the hospital. It is a one-stop website to set up a site for yourself in which you can update everyone on your journey with blog-type posts, receive emotional support, and find other resources to aid your and your family.

GoFundMe is a website you’ve probably seen before for any type of person organization that is in need of financial support. We were blessed by my father, who set up an account to help with the burden of medical costs. Talking about money is always difficult, especially when your family has been hit by sickness. Money is just an object of this world and something many people are willing to share in an effort to help you practically.

American Cancer Society was made to free the world from cancer. Until they do, they'll be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention. We found this to be great method of finding other aiding and resources linked to leukemia patients.
